The 617th Military Police Company from Richmond, Kentucky foiled an attempt by insurgents to ambush a civilian convoy last Spring. The attackers, who far outnumbered the Military Police, were repelled and destroyed. The Soldiers who fought that day were honored by Multinational Corps Iraq Commanding General, Lieutenant General John R. Vines with decorations ranging from Army Commendations with V device to Silver Stars.
