The Environmental Division of the Grafenwoehr Training Area protects the soil, air and water of the land while supporting the Army’s training mission. We sat down with Stefan Haertl, the environmental engineer for the Directorate of Public Works at U.S. Army Garrison Bavaria to learn about why many rare creatures, such as the yellow bellied toad, flourish here.
