One of the winners of the Army's Best Medic Team Competition at Fort Bliss, Texas tells us why the competition is valuable to the Army and we hear from a lieutenant participating in the Army Warfighter Assessment.

THE BEST MEDIC TEAM COMPETITION WRAPPED UP LAST WEEK AND ONE WINNER, SERGEANT DERICK BOSLEY SAY'S HE LEARNED THAT THE VALUE OF THE EVENT WAS IN FORCING MEDICS TO BE WELL ROUNDED SOLDIERS.
"YOU CANT JUST FOCUS ON ONE SIDE OR THE OTHER. YOU CANT JUST BE A SHOOTER OR A MEDICAL NERD. YOU HAVE TO HAVE THAT BALANCE OF EVERYTHING. AND WITH THAT, MAKE YOURSELF A WELL ROUNDED SOLDIER. ITS NOT GOOD ENOUGH TO HAVE ONE SKILL SET AND NOT THE OTHER."

"THE WAY THIS MACHINE WORKS IS IT IDENTIFIES UAVs IN HE AIR, THEN I CAN TRACK THEM WITH THE SIGHT ON TOP OF IT, JAM THEM, MAKE THEM FALL FROM THE SKY OR RETURN HOME, AND THEN I FOLLOW THEM WITH THE SIGHT AND TRACK THEM TO THE GROUND CONTROL STATION WHICH I CAN CALL FOR FORE ON."
