U-S ARMY SOUTH HOSTED A VISIT BY THE COLOMBIAN ARMY, AIR FORCE, AND NAVY, DURING A JOINT SERGEANTS MAJOR ACADEMY VISIT TO
JOINT BASE SAN ANTONIO - FORT SAM HOUSTON. THIS TWO-WEEK PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT COURSE ALLOWED 25 SERVICE MEMBERS TO LEARN ABOUT U.S. ARMY DRILL SERGEANTS AND THE SENIOR NON-COMMISSIONED OFFICER SELECTION PROCESS. SERGEANT MAJOR PAUL YINGST, U-S ARMY SOUTH, SAYS COOPERATION IS KEY.
" THIS GIVES US THE OPPORTUNITY TO SHARE WITH THEM HOW WE DEVELOP OUR NCO CORPS; THIS IS A PART OF THEIR SERGEANTS MAJOR ACADEMY FOR THOSE SENIOR LEADERS THAT ARE WORKING TO GO TO THE NEXT LEVEL AND ITS A GREAT OPPORTUNITY TO CONTINUE TO BUILD THE GOOD RELATIONSHIP THAT WE ALREADY HAVE. "
PARTICIPANTS WERE ALSO BRIEFED ON THE US ARMY RESERVE CORPS AND THE IMPORTANT ROLE THEY PLAY IN AUGMENTING ACTIVE DUTY FORCES.
