MAJOR GENERAL KURT SONNTAG, COMMANDING GENERAL OF THE COMBINED JOINT TASK FORCE-HORN OF AFRICA, DELIVERED A MESSAGE TO HIS TROOPS FOLLOWING AN AWARDS CEREMONY WHERE HE RECOGNIZED THE OUTSTANDING EFFORTS WITHIN HIS RANKS.
"THANKS TO ALL OF YOU FOR BEING A PART OF THIS TEAM AND FOR WHAT YOU GUYS ARE DOING ON BEHALF OF THE NATION. I CANNOT EMPHASIZE ENOUGH WE HAVE A LOT OF PEOPLE IN HARMS WAY AND THAT SHOULD BE OUR NUKMBER ONE FOCUS AT ALL TIMES."
U.S. ARMY ENGINEERS LEND CONSTRUCTION AND MEDICAL HELP TO THE PEOPLE ON THE REMOTE ISLAND NATION OF PALAU. FIRST LIEUTENANT BREANNA DAVIS SAYS THEIR CIVIC ACTION TEAM IS BRINGING SOME MUCH NEEDED RESOURCES TO THE AREA.
"THIS WAS SOMETHING THAT WE KINDA DREAMT UP WITH THE IDEA THAT WE COULD REALLY BRING THE ACCESSABILITY TO THE PEOPLE AND MAKE IT AN EVENT THAT PEOPLE REMEMBER AND SPUR SOME CHANGE."
