The 25th ID held a wreath laying ceremony to honor veterans from the Pearl Harbor attack and U.S. Army Engineers are helping with construction projects in Palau.

THE 25TH INFANTRY DIVISON HELD A WREATH LAYING CEREMONY TO HONOR VETERANS FROM THE PEARL HARBOR ATTACK FOR THE 75TH ANNIVERSARY ON WHEELER ARMY AIR FIELD IN HAWAII. VETERAN THOMAS PESTO SHARED HIS MEMORIES FROM DECEMBER 7TH 1941.
"SO 7:30 WE STARTED PLAYING FOOTBALL. AT 8 O'CLOCK I LOOKED UP AND I SAW ALL THESE STRANGE PLANES IN THE SKY AND I KNEW SOMETHING WAS WRONG AND IT WASN'T LONG WE WERE RUNNING FOR OUR LIVES."
U.S. ARMY ENGINEERS ON A 6 MONTH DEPLOYMENT AS A CIVIC ACTION TEAM ARE PROVIDING APPRENTICESHIP TRAINING AND CONSTRUCTION HELP ON THE ISLAND NATION OF PALAU. ASSISTANCE OFFICER IN CHARGE, SERGEANT FIRST CLASS JASSEN MARQUEZ, SAYS TEACHING OTHERS MAKES A BIG IMPACT ON THE LOCAL COMMUNITY.
"I'VE HAD APPRENTICES IN THE CIVILIAN WORLD, BUT THAT PART RIGHT THERE HELPED ME OUT, BUT WE ACTUALLY HAVE APPRENTICES THAT WORK UNDERNEATH US THAT WE'RE ACTUALLY ABLE TO GUIDE AND MENTOR."
