Sergeant Laura martin, Soldiers Radio News
U.S. Army Paratroopers along with partner nations are gearing up for operation toy drop at Fort Bragg North Carolina. The soldiers are conducting jump training, which, according to jumpmaster Sergeant First Class William Szykulski, has some strict guidelines.
"Safety is very important to this operation, safety is the number one key because we know when we send somebody out we don't want anybody to come down hurt."
At the U.S. Army Research Lab on Aberdeen Proving Ground Maryland, scientists are looking for a coating for helicopter engines that will keep sand from creating a dangerous situation. Doctor Anindya Ghoshal is leading this study.
"we're going through a very methodical process to understand the science and then use the science to predict the material solution what we call the engineered or tailored materials, and that will lead to the right solution."
