SRN121916B- Pearl Harbor survivor wants us to learn from the past and Gender Integration exceeds expectations.
SERGEANT LAURA MARTIN, SOLDIERS RADIO NEWS
75 YEARS AFTER THE ATTACK ON PEARL HARBOR, ARMY VETERAN JIMMY LEE EXPLAINS THAT BY TELLING AND QUESTIONING THE STORIES OF OUR PAST... WE CAN PREVENT EVENTS LIKE THESE IN THE FUTURE.
"SO HOW DO WE COPE WITH SOMETHING LIKE THIS. NOW THAT IT HAPPENED, WHAT’S THE CONSEQUENCES? WHAT ARE WE GOING TO UNDERSTAND…THE LESSONS LEARNED. AND OF COURSE THE FUTURE GENERATIONS. SO THIS IS WHAT I WANT YOU FOLKS TO TAKE AWAY FROM THIS."
FULL GENDER INTEGRATION IS EXCEEDING EXPECTATIONS WITH MORE THAN 300 WOMEN SUCCESSFULLY ENLISTING OR TRANSFERRING INTO THE ARMY'S MOST PHYSICALLY DEMANDING CAREER FIELDS. THE ARMY OPENED ABOUT 138 THOUSAND INFANTRY, ARMOR, ARTILLERY AND SPECIAL FORCES POSITIONS EARLIER THIS YEAR AND WILL IMPLEMENT THE OCCUPATIONAL PHYSICAL ASSESSMENT TEST IN JANUARY TO HELP NEW RECRUITS OF ALL GENDERS FIND THE JOB THAT FITS THEM.
