THE ARMY CLOSED OUT FISCAL YEAR 20-16 WITH THE LOWEST LEVEL OF UNEMPLOYMENT COMPENSATION IN 13 YEARS. THE SOLDIER FOR LIFE -- TRANSITION ASSISTANCE PROGRAM HAS PLAYED A LARGE ROLE IN HELPING THE ARMY REDUCE UNEMPLOYMENT COMPENSATION FOR TRANSITIONING SOLDIERS. since IT'S PEAK OF 515 MILLION DOLLARS IN 20-11 it has REQUIRING LEADERS TO TAKE AN ACTIVE ROLE IN A SOLDIERS TRANSITION TO CIVILIAN LIFE. THE ARMY HAS ALSO PARTNERED WITH THE DEPARTMENTS OF LABOR, VETERANS AFFAIRS, AND THE SMALL BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION TO INCREASE CIVILIAN AWARENESS OF THE MANY SKILLS VETERANS HAVE.
