I'm Lance Corporal Savannah Mosby with your Marine Minute.
U.S. Marines, sailors, and coastguardsmen are currently participating in San Francisco Fleet Week 2017 in San Francisco. The Marines are volunteering at food banks, visting children's and veterans hospitals, and conducting training with local firefighters, among other activities. Fleet Week gives the San Francisco community a unique opportunity to interact with members of the sea services.
Also in the Corps,
Marines with Marine Wing Support Squadron 272 are scheduled to assist Marine Medium Tiltrotor Squadron 264 during the humanitarian relief efforts in Puerto Rico as a result of Hurricane Maria. CWO2 Jonathan Hart, MWSS 272 utilities officer, said:
"The main mission of MWSS 272 is allowing the VMM 264 to go in and reach further places to open more avenues, hopefully to reach more people to establish greater connectivity around the island and allow them to do their jobs."
