Marine Corps Brig. Gen. James F. Glynn, deputy commander of Operation Inherent Resolve's Special Operations Joint Task Force, spoke to reporters from Baghdad, Iraq, via satelite, during a media brief at the Pentagon, January 16th. Glynn talked about the progress of coalition forces in the region and the continuing efforts of assisting Iraqi security forces in their fight against the Islamic State.

"The campaign against ISIS has resulted in over four and a half million people living in Iraq liberated from the evil of ISIS, and we congratulate the government of Iraq on their success and are proud to stand beside them. However, we must not lose sight of the fact that much work remains to ensure the enduring defeat of this evil terrorist ideology."
