I'm Cpl. Michael Parks with your Marine Minute.
Marines with Marine Wing Support Squadron 371 conduct helicopter refuel training at Marine Corps Air Ground Combat Center, Twentynine Palms, as a part of Integrated Training Exercise 2-18, Feb. 4. The purpose of the ITX is to produce combat ready forces in a challenging, realistic training environment.
Also in the Corps,
Marines of all ages are now able to opt into conducting a 5,000-meter row instead of a 3-mile run during the Physical Fitness Test. The new changes are effective immediately and Marines that were previously unable to conduct a full PFT, due to injury, are able to receive full credit.
On this day in Marine Corps history in 1904,
Captain Albertus W. Catlin and 49 Marines established the first permanent Marine garrison in Honolulu. To this day Marine Corps Base Hawaii continues to provide support to Operational Forces.
