The U.S. and Thailand kicked off Exercise Cobra Gold 2018 February 13th. Cobra Gold, in its 37th iteration, began as a bilateral exercise between the two allies and has now grown into the largest multinational exercise in the Indo-Pacific region. The annual exercise is being held in the Kingdom of Thailand February 13 through 23 with seven full participating nations.
Lt. Gen. Lawrence Nicholson, III Marine Expeditionary Force's commanding general said, "As nations we will share best practices and we will work together to ensure the continuing stability and security of this great Indo-Pacific region."
