The 10th Sergeant Major of the Marine Corps, Robert E. Cleary, was laid to rest in Virginia Beach, Va., Feb. 20th. Cleary held the highest enlisted position in the Corps from 1983 to 1987. He was the last Korean War veteran to serve as Sergeant Major of the Marine Corps. He also fought in the Vietnam war where he was awarded the Silver Star, the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal with valor device and two Purple Hearts. He passed away Feb. 11, at the age of 86. U.S. and Thai service members visited Pong Ka Sang School during Exercise Cobra Gold 2018 in Korat, Kingdom of Thailand, Feb. 19. Servicemembers visited the school to teach the students English, play games shared by both cultures and present gifts. The U.S. Navy, Air Force, and Marine Corps servicemembers are at Korat Air Force Base during Cobra Gold to support the aviation combat element of the exercise.
