Marines with 1st Light Armored Reconnaissance Battalion conducted a night-raid training exercise at Camp Pendleton, California, Feb. 20th. The exercise helped to maintain mission readiness by preparing Marines on what to expect in unexpected and deployed environments.
In the Pacific,
U.S. Marines, along with allied troops, are currently participating in Exercise Cope North 2018 at Andersen Air Force Base in Guam. Cope North is an annual tri-lateral field training exercise designed to improve proficiency in combat readiness and humanitarian assistance disaster-relief operations.
This week in Marine Corps history in 1991,
Operation Desert Storm ended after a cease-fire declared by President George H.W. Bush went into effect. During the engagement, I Marine Expeditionary Force had a strength of more than 92,000 Marines, making it the largest Marine Corps operation in history.
