Army Sgt. Maj. William O. Wooldridge, the first Sergeant Major of the Army, has passed away. Wooldridge, who served in the Army for more than 30 years, received two Silver Stars for gallantry in action while fighting in Europe during World War II. He is survived by his wife, Patty.
