Operated by the 492nd and 494th Fighter Squadrons, The F-15E Strike Eagle is a dual-role fighter designed to perform air-to-air and air-to-ground missions. An array of avionics and electronics systems gives the F-15E the capability to fight at low altitudes, day or night, and in all weather.<br />

Historically the 493rd Fighter Squadron operated the F-15 C/D Eagle, an all-weather, extremely maneuverable, tactical fighter designed to permit the Air Force to gain and maintain air supremacy over the battlefield. The 493rd FS divested their F-15 C/D models to become the 2nd F-35 fighter squadron at the 48th Fighter Wing.
