Diversity in all forms makes our Air Force better. It’s more than race, gender and ethnicity, it’s about leveraging unique strengths, perspectives and experiences. A force made up of Airmen of various backgrounds inherently brings out new and innovative ideas, which is vitally important to the Air Force mission. Additionally, we have a lot of complex issues to solve within our service and the diversity of our force means we’re bringing unique skills, abilities and knowledge to the table to help solve those issues.
Diversity is important and it should be celebrated. The sharing of ideas and experiences by Airmen of various backgrounds ensures richness in collaboration and communication across our workforce, inherently bringing out new and innovative ideas, which are vitally important to our mission.
Air Education and Training Command leaders are diligently working to remove barriers, promote mutual respect, and encourage tough conversations in safe spaces. The First Command is leading efforts to strengthen the diversity through deliberate actions to raise awareness about opportunities; developing partnerships with underrepresented groups; removing barriers to serve and providing mentorship to our current force.
We succeed when diversity and inclusion are fully ingrained throughout the force and every Airman and family is supported and empowered to reach their full potential. show less
