Arctic Challenge is a multinational flying exercise involving Europe-based U.S. Air Force aircraft and personnel alongside eight partner nations to ensure interoperability. Through these strengthened relationships and engagements with our Allies and partners, the U.S. demonstrates its shared commitment to a safe and secure Europe.
NELLIS AIR FORCE BASE, Nev.-The Swedish Air Force provided a vital role to the 414 Combat Training Squadron’s Red Flag-Nellis 22-2 with two air bosses. Their participation promotes interoperability between friendly forces and the exchange of information for both future Red Flag exercises and the Swedish Arctic Challenge Exercise.
U.S. Air Force F-16C and F-16D Fighting Falcon aircraft and Airmen assigned to the 52nd Fighter Wing, Spangdahlem Air Base, Germany, have arrived in Kallax, Sweden, to support Arctic Challenge Exercise 21, a Norwegian air force-led exercise, scheduled to take place in June 2021 in the Nordic countries of Sweden, Finland, and Norway.
