At the invitation of the Government of Norway, six United
States Air Force F-15s and approximately 100 support personnel from the 48th
Fighter Wing, RAF Lakenheath, U.K., will be deploying to Bodo, Norway May 23

- 27, 2016 to participate in Exercise Arctic Fighter Meet 16. During the
three-day bilateral training, the 48th Fighter Wing will conduct basic
fighter maneuvers with dissimilar aircraft from Norway, Sweden, and Finland
air forces to enhance interoperability and improve combined air operations.
This training is a perfect opportunity to use forward-based U.S. aircraft
and Airmen to train with our NATO Allies and European partners in a
realistic and strategic environment. The approximate cost for this training
is $1.1 million. Through strengthened relationships and consistent training
exercises with our Allies and partners, the U.S. demonstrates its shared
