The ARDENT SENTRY exercise series provides a highly complex, integrated training environment where federal, state and local emergency responders can practice their procedures and validate their processes. ARDENT SENTRY 13 is primarily a Command Post Exercise, but includes field training (FTX) events within the exercise. Those FTX events take place in Montana, Florida, Virginia and South Carolina. In Montana, the Air Force Global Strike Command responds to a simulated nuclear weapons incident near Malmstrom Air Force Base. In Florida, the Florida National Guard works with state and local officials to respond to simulated major hurricanes and hazardous material events. USNORTHCOM’s Joint Task Force – Civil Support deploys to Fort A.P. Hill, Virginia during the exercise. In South Carolina, the National Guard conducts field training events at multiple locations in response to a simulated hurricane and hazardous material events. In Texas, US Army North trains with the Mexican military to provide a coordinated response to simulated natural disaster events along the US-Mexico border. show less
