At the request of the country of Argentina, USSOUTHCOM is assisting in the ongoing search and rescue efforts for the missing Argentine submarine with 44 on board. PA assets have arrived in Argentina to cover the international effort, which is garnering increased numbers of domestic and international media queries.

NAVAL STATION MAYPORT, Fla. –Two U.S. Navy P-8A Poseidon, the Submarine
Rescue Chamber (SRC) and the Pressurized Rescue Module (PRM) from the Undersea
Rescue Command that were assisting Argentina in the search for Argentine submarine,
ARA San Juan, completed operations Nov 30.
Bahia Blanca, ARGENTINA (Nov. 23, 2017) – A detachment of Sailors from Commander, Patrol and Reconnaissance Wing (CPRW) 11, began conducting sea search and rescue operations off the coast of Argentina, Nov. 19, 2017.
