The Citizen Soldier Campaign is a communications effort to reconnect the American people with its Army by highlighting Soldiers serving in the Army National Guard. Recent studies have shown a continual decline in familiarity with the military since fewer people report having an immediate connection or a basic understanding of the military lifestyle. Citizen Soldiers work, volunteer, worship and live in every zip code in America and are the local face of the U.S. Army. The Citizen Soldier Campaign fosters an increased understanding of the Army National Guard, its strengths and capabilities and its dual role to defend the homeland and fight our nations’ wars as part of the Total Army force.
