Exercise VIGILANT SHIELD is a bi-national exercise which emphasizes an integrated American and Canadian exercise program to support respective national strategy for North America’s defense. VIGILANT SHIELD tests the commands’ readiness to respond to various national security contingencies. It will run concurrently with other command post exercises in order to train headquarter staff personnel in the realistic interaction between federal, provincial, and international mission partners so the commonalities, seams, and boundaries can be identified between organizations with a role to play in North America’s defense. show less
