Combat Raider is designed to train aircrew in realistic scenarios that support a full range of operations against modern threats and replicate today's contingency operations. It is coordinated at Ellsworth Air Force Base, South Dakota, and conducted on the Powder River Training Complex (PRTC), the largest, dedicated military air space in the continental United States. Combat Raider was established in 2016 and is an annual training event focusing on large scale exercises that train aircrew by using combat capabilities to increase mission effectiveness.
