The Army will continue its annual holiday tradition of pausing basic training and Advanced Individual Training during the holiday season. Trainees have the option to leave basic training and AIT for the two-week holiday period, providing an opportunity to reconnect these young Soldiers with their families and to share their Army story with the public and their communities.
A massive annual undertaking, the attention initially focuses on the logistics of safely transporting Soldiers to (and from) their HBL destinations. Meanwhile, numerous Fort Eisenhower staff, including service members, and community partners stay behind to provide Soldier-trainees with activities and outings (most at no cost to them).
