The Department of Defense is in support of U.S. Agency for International Development’s efforts to deliver critical relief supplies to earthquake-affected areas in Indonesia. The September 28 earthquake and tsunami followed a series of powerful earthquakes that hit Indonesia’s Lombok and Sumbawa Islands in July and August. These tremors damaged 85,000 houses and displaced 435,000 people. The United States remains committed to helping the people of Indonesia.
