Exercise Invincible Sentry 2023 is designed to validate Omani-U.S. crisis-response planning and strengthen staff proficiency and execution in critical mission areas using scenarios involving a simulated transnational security threat. Military-to-military engagements such as Invincible Sentry demonstrate the value of working together in unfamiliar environments and organizational interoperability, as well as working through combined command and control challenges, integrating systems, developing processes, and strengthening relationships and trust. Both Oman and U.S. military forces are responsible for maintaining security, defending their respective national interests, and protecting citizens. This exercise helps clarify planning and conducting joint operations in unconventional environments, and the coordination required between militaries and other government agencies, as needed. show less
