This year marks the 60th Anniversary of the Korean War (June 25, 1950 - July
27, 1953). We thank and honor all Korean War veterans for their service and
sacrifice. Through the United Nations Command, the international community
answered the call to defend freedom, and its sacrifice will not be
forgotten. The Republic of Korea has become a beacon of freedom and
prosperity in the region, and is a testament to the courage and sacrifice of
the Korean War veterans who fought 60 years ago.
Korean War veterans returned to South Korea to mark the 60th anniversary of the signing of the armistice agreement that brought the brutal conflict to an end.
American and South Korean officials and veterans will commemorate the 60th anniversary of the Korean War Armistice Agreement in the U.S. and South Korea this week.
