Elements of the United States Army’s 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault) are conducting an operational readiness exercise at the Joint Readiness Training Center on Fort Johnson, LA from January 3-30, 2023. This is a pre-scheduled readiness exercise that has been planned for several months and is intended to test and strengthen our unit’s readiness. This exercise will implement one of the division’s core capabilities – the execution of a Large-Scale Long-Range Air Assault. This mission will begin with the launch of close to 80 Army helicopters from Fort Campbell, KY, these helicopters and the Soldiers on board will stop at several locations throughout the flight path to refuel and resupply before they assault onto training objectives at Fort Johnson, LA.
