Marine Air Ground Task Force Training Command will host a media day during Marine Air Ground Task Force Warfighting Exercise 1-20, Nov. 8, 2019, at Marine Air Ground Combat Center, Twentynine Palms, California.
MWX is a force-on-force free play exercise involving approximately 10,000 Marines, sailors, and members of partner nations’ militaries. The exercise, which is scheduled to be held in the first week of November, allows units to actively simulate combat by using laser simulation equipment.
MWX supports, Commandant of the Marine Corps, Gen. David Berger’s latest planning guidance. New threats, new missions, and new technologies require us to adjust our organizational design and modernize our capabilities. This exercise deliberately addresses calls from Department of Defense and Marine Corps service-level guidance for advancements in warfighting readiness.
MWX differs from other events held at MCAGCC by putting service members in a force-on-force situation as opposed to having units conduct controlled live fire ranges against artificial targets.
During the exercise service members can become simulated casualties affecting the outcome of the exercise and forcing unit leaders to make decisions in a realistic scenario.
MWX is designed to challenge commands across the spectrum of the Marine Air Ground Task Force. The goal of the exercise is to provide a dynamic training environment that enhances warfighting skills. show less
