Four munitions Airmen assigned to the 86th Munitions Squadron, 31st Munitions Squadron and United States Air Forces in Europe - Air Forces Africa Weapons Safety division are deploying to provide munitions storage safety training to munitions experts assigned to the Armed Forces of the Republic of Moldova at Chisinau, Moldova, from July 11-21, 2018. During this training, U.S. Airmen with an expertise in munitions logistics and explosive safety will train approximately 15 Moldovan munitions professionals on the safe handling and storage of stockpiled munitions. These stockpiles left over from the Soviet Union are a hazard in many former Soviet bloc countries, including Moldova, and with this training the Moldovan armed forces can mitigate the needless danger of unplanned explosions these munitions pose to the military and civilians. show less
