Northern Strike is the premier combat training event for the Michigan Guard occurring from July 13 - August 1 on Camp Grayling, Alpena CRTC and Rogers City and will highlight the integrated combat capabilities of fixed and rotary aviation assets along with cavalry, mortar, artillery and infantry assets; Michigan National Guard forces will be joined by other states' National Guard units and military members from coalition countries, Latvia, Poland, Australia and Canada.
The ability to see your enemy before they see you is beneficial to military assets. That’s exactly what members of the 123rd Air Control Squadron are able to provide with their advanced radar technology.
Aircraft from more than a dozen military units will be operating in northern Michigan over the next several weeks as part of a major training exercise involving military personnel from Canada, Latvia, Poland, Australia and 20 states’ military forces. Northern Strike is unique in that it combines both air and ground combat capabilities in one training exercise.
