    National Veterans Day Observance    

    The annual National Veterans Day Observance, hosted by the Department of Veterans Affairs, honors the men and women who have served and continue to serve in the U.S. armed forces during war and peacetime. Prior to the annual observance, military bands perform a prelude in the Memorial Amphitheater and the U.S. Army Military District of Washington conducts a wreath-laying at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier.
