Northern Edge is a U.S. Indo-Pacific Command sponsored, Headquarters Pacific Air Forces led U.S. joint field training exercise in and around Alaska. Thousands of participants from all U.S. Air Force, U.S. Navy, U.S. Marine Corps and U.S. Army, to include Reserve and National Guard units, are involved.
The exercise is designed to provide high-end, realistic war fighter training, and develop and improve joint interoperability, and enhance combat readiness of participating forces. This is done by providing a venue for large force employment training and multi-domain operations; tactical training for the full spectrum of conflict; execute and advance adaptive basing joint tactics, techniques, and procedures; advance live-virtual-constructive capabilities; and support USINDOPACOM’s experimental initiatives.
This joint training provides effective, flexible and capabilities-centered joint forces ready for deployment worldwide. show less
