Operation Lone Star, or OLS, is a Texas state active duty mission, which was launched by Texas Gov. Greg Abbott in March 2021. OLS is a joint mission between the Texas Military Department, which is comprised of the Texas National Guard (Army and Air) and the Texas State Guard, and the Texas Department of Public Safety, and other state agencies, to address security concerns along the Texas-Mexico border.
