Real Thaw 18 <br />
<br />
Real Thaw is an annual Portuguese-led, large joint and combined force exercise typically scheduled in the spring of every year in Portugal. The purpose of the exercise is to develop and integrate realistic interoperability tasks for both in the air and on the ground between multinational NATO allies. Participating forces will execute training missions aimed to merge and employ different platforms towards a major objective, covering a vast range of activities to include air-to-air and air-to-ground training, tactical air transport operations and close air support. This year, six nations are participating; Spain, Denmark, Netherlands, France, Portugal and the United States.
