On 13 May 2023, Governor Mike Dunleavy issued a disaster declaration for the Alaska Gateway, Yukon Flats, Kuspuk, and Copper River Regional Education Attendance Areas due to severe flooding, which is currently impacting the communities of Circle, Eagle (Yukon River), Crooked Creek, Red Devil, Napaimiut (Kuskokwim River), and Glenallen (Moose Creek). The State of Alaska Department of Homeland Security & Emergency Management State Emergency Operations Center’s has requested Alaska National Guard service members to support its recovery operations in the vicinity of Crooked Creek and Circle.
