The War of 1812 Bicentennial Commemoration kicked off in New Orleans, April 17, 2012. The commemoration is a salute to all sailors and Marines who fought gallantly in that conflict, who have served in our nations' conflicts since then, and who are defending freedom around the world today.<br />

Commemorative events are scheduled to continue along the East Coast and Great Lakes over the next three years in 14 cities, culminating in New Orleans in January 2015, the bicentennial of the Battle of New Orleans.
