The DME is a bilateral exchange between the Chinese, People's Liberation Army (PLA), interagency humanitarian aid and disaster relief organizations and U.S. Army Pacific. The PLA hosted a DME in the Guangzhou Military Region in January 2015, the current DME is being held at Yakima Training Center on Joint Base Lewis-McChord, WA. The DME focuses on disaster response missions and improves U.S. and Chinese military interoperability.
