The Marine Corps recognizes the opportunity to enhance energy security and resilience for Marines, civilians and their families. To guarantee Marines are equipped to train and fight in any climate, the Marine Corps is committed to increasing their ability to sustainably generate, distribute and effectively manage energy resources. Enhancing lethality, resilience and development of the capabilities required to support our installations, the warfighter and the mission will remain our top priority today, this month and well into the future.
Marine Corps Base (MCB) Camp Lejeune awarded a $22 million utility energy service contract (UESC) to Duke Energy for the design and construction of a microgrid at the installation. The award leverages Energy Resilience Conservation Investment Program (ERCIP) funding to install a microgrid at Camp Johnson - a critical education and training area at MCB Camp Lejeune.
