As the San Antonio-based Medical Readiness and Training Command's mission continues to mature and evolve, the command's signature program has become the annual Global Medic exercises held annually at Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst, New Jersey; Fort Hunter Liggett, California and Fort McCoy, Wisconsin.
Global Medic exercises are full-spectrum training events, where active-duty and reserve component Soldiers, Airmen and Sailors confront unscripted scenarios that include: offering battlefield combat life-saving, transporting wounded personnel by land vehicles and helicopters to the operation of a functioning combat support hospital.
The Global Medic exercises are the only Army Reserve exercises fully-accredited with the Pentagon and are sanctioned for participation by allied armed forces, such as the British Army and the Canadian Army.
Beyond the three regular Global Medics held annually, MRTC partners with Army North in exercises developed to build relationships between the Army and civil authorities and civilian first responders. Because of the growing reputation of Global Medic exercises, MRTC is moving to brand all of its training events as variants of Global Medic. show less
