    • Northeastern Washington Wildfires

      The National Multi-Agency Coordinating Group (NMAC) at the National Interagency Fire Center (NIFC) in Boise, Idaho, is mobilizing approximately 250 Soldiers from the 17th Fires Brigade, 7th Infantry Division, known as "Thunderbolt," to perform firefighting duties as part of the Wildland Fire Fighting in Eastern Washington.

    • Winter Floods 2015

      The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and U.S. Army National Guard were activated
      to assist local and state authorities in the aftermath of record flooding in
      the central and southern region of the United States in December 2015.

    • El Nino 2016

      El Nino, which is forecast to be one of the strongest on record, is expected to influence weather and climate patterns this winter by impacting Camp Pendleton, Calif. as well as surrounding positions within the Pacific jet stream.
