Spartan Pegasus is a multi-component, joint military exercise which validates U.S. Army Alaska’s unique capacity to conduct airborne operations and ground mobility in extreme arctic conditions. The exercise further refines planning and mission capabilities between U.S. Army Alaska, the U.S. Air Force, the Alaska National Guard, and the State of Alaska.
MEFEX is a MEF-level exercise conducted to deploy the MEF with its MSCs in an expeditionary environment, train the I MHG Staff as an operational command, and strengthen subordinate units by maximizing training opportunities. I MEF has not coordinated a command-level exercise of this capacity since 2003.
