Keen Edge is a Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff-directed, U.S. Pacific Command-scheduled and USFJ-sponsored command post exercise (CPX). KE16 is a joint/bilateral CPX involving U.S. military and Japan Self Defense Forces (JSDF) personnel designed to increase combat readiness and interoperability between the JSDF and U.S. forces. KE will focus on bilateral coordination, force protection, host nation support, ballistic missile defense (BMD) and non-combatant evacuation operations (NEO).
KUMAMOTO, JAPAN – The Western Army, Japan Ground Self Defense Force (JGSDF), and U.S. Task Force 76/3 (TF 76/3) completed simulated operations in a bilateral coordination node here as a part of exercise Keen Edge 24, February 8.
A team of 16 from Naval Medical Forces Pacific’s headquarters, located in San Diego, and various NMFP subordinate commands travelled to Hawaii and participated in Keen Edge 22 from Jan. 27- Feb. 3.
