This feature page highlights Maritime Defense Exercise-Amphibious Rapid Deployment Brigade (MDX-ARDB). MDX-ARDB is the first time the 31st Marine expeditionary Unit (MEU) and Amphibious Squadron (COMPHIBRON) 11 will partner with the ARDB and Mine Warfare Fleet, coming together to bilaterally rehearse tactically at Combined Arms Training Center (CATC) Camp Fuji and also training at Numazu Beach. Training will focus on the defense of key maritime terrain and will help refine habitual relationships, and supports the ultimate goal of commanding and controlling U.S. and Japanese forces – jointly. This exercise highlights the continued commitment by both countries to enhance American and Japanese combat readiness for the defense of Japan, while strengthening bilateral relationships. It serves as one of many pieces in the cornerstone of peace and security in the Indo-Pacific which has lasted more than 70 years and is based on the shared values of peace, regional stability, and democracy. show less
