Regional Command (SW) is a combined force of approximately 9,000 personnel predominantly from the U.S., U.K., Denmark, Estonia and Georgia operating in Helmand and Nimroz provinces of Afghanistan.
U.S. Navy Adm. James G. Stavridis, NATO’s supreme allied commander for Europe, said he is confident the transition process to increase Afghan-led missions over the next three years will be successful.
