Joint Task Force-National Capital Region, State Funeral of George H. W. Bush, the 41st President of the United States
Joint Task Force-National Capital Region, located in Washington D.C. at Fort Lesley J. McNair, is charged with the planning and execution of ceremonial support for the state funeral of George H. W. Bush, the 41st President of the United States. As a joint organization, the task force is comprised of nearly 4,000 military and civilian personnel from all branches of the United States Armed Forces, to include Reserve and National Guard components. A state funeral is conducted on behalf of the Nation, in recognition of the individual’s legacy and service to the Nation.
