The NUWC NEWS icon was developed to apply a consistent identity to news videos produced for the Naval Undersea Warfare Center Division Newport. This helps unify and establish a recognizable and identifiable visual brand unique to NUWC Division Newport news. Division Newport is a shore command of the U.S. Navy under the Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) Warfare Center enterprise. The NAVSEA command logo is the anchor point to our visual identity and the primary symbol of our brand mark, so when developing the NUWC NEWS icon, it needed to reflect familiar elements from the NAVSEA brand. The elements carried over include the color gradients, submarine and torpedo graphic.
