Photo illustration of a Marine created in Adobe Photoshop to depict the operating environment of modern-day, desert combat Marines. The Marine model was photographed in a studio equipped with a weapon and wearing full desert combat uniform and gear; then, through use of Photoshop, the model was digitally placed in a desert scene. A desert backdrop image was used to create the full effect of the scene. Lighting and color adjustments as well as shadow application were used for finishing touches. The image was developed as part of the Centennial anniversary of the Marine Corps Reserve.
